Dress me

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Just when we thought Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Transformers: Dark of the Moon tour was over, the babe resurfaces in Beijing for more Asia promos, which equals more red carpet glam! This white lace Dolce & Gabbana dress with nude pumps is RHW's most demure, ladylike look yet. And though it looks a little bunchy around the bodice, it's a lovely change of pace.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman brings her girls out to play--tastefully, natch--at the Snow Flower and the Secret Fan NYC screening in this red-hot Elie Saab peplum sheath that's showing off her curves. With nude strappies, a dark clutch and a red lip, Nic keeps the rest of her look simple, while her baby blues pop. Best part is, the actress is rocking this look with total confidence!

Kerry Washington

Call the fire department, because Kerry Washington is burning up the 2011 ESPY Awards red carpet. The fashionista is sizzling in this Jenny Packham belted mini with sexy open back, high bun, metallic clutch and Gio Diev stilettos. Now this is sexy summertime glamour done right.

Eva Longoria

At the Imagine Cup in New York City, Eva Longoria's Asos orange mini and matching Brian Atwood pumps kind of reminds us of a pumpkin--albeit it a very cute one--and it's a little too close to her skin colour for comfort. But on the bright side, this dress cost less than a $100 (!) and it makes the petite babe's gams look a mile long. You win some, you lose some.

Twitter is the battlefield and this is WAR

Nonhle Thema

I’m bored by this constant bickering and childish behaviour of the very same people that we as the public need to look up to. I mean really, you ‘all need to grow up and learn to shut up or do your little quarreling in private. Nonhle, you’re rich, we get it so please put the shut to the up. We know that the media did you wrong but let’s not forget that you this started with you disappointing your fans to a point of their embarrassment. You’re not exactly the victim here, so walk away now before your career burns down in smoke. Saying that someone slept their way to the top is more like hitting a man below the belt and that’s just wrong regardless of your reasons for doing so. No offense Dineo but you really need to check yourself before making comments like “When you sleep for it (money), it comes fast... be patient with me I’m still working, it takes a while”.... Nonhle might have slept her way to the top but you definitely look and dress the part of someone who is selling herself for a millionaire hubby and as for Sizwe Dlhomo, brother please!!! This is not a battle for men so just keep your nose out of it because your end result can only be a restraining order. Pick someone your own size and let the little girls have their fun. All in all, you all look like a bunch of attention seekers and we as the public are not amused but rather disgusted by your desperate measures to make the headlines. All of you need to grow up and develop some dignity.

Dineo Ranaka
Sizwe Dhlomo

Nonhle Thema VS Dineo Ranaka, YFM station and Sizwe Dlhomo.

Sunday World Newspaper reported on 10/July/2011

Controversial e.tv’s Club 808 presenter Dineo Ranaka has accused self-proclaimed multi-millionaire Nonhle Thema of having sold her body for wealth and of having “a big Bermuda Triangle which can park all the buses”.

The Jozi-based YFM afternoon drive DJ was reacting to Thema’s unsolicited attack on YFM DJs on her Twitter page this week, accusing them of being broke and struggling to pay their rent and food costs.

She also invited them to apply for a loan from her.

Thema, who gloated that she was worth R10m, also claims she can buy the youth station.
Her ranting read in part: “I got more money than u ever dreamed off (sic)....

“I’m young and rich girl. YFM DJ pees are struggling to pay rent....sit down or I will give you a loan. All the YFM DJs I can double your salaries.

“I can buy YFM...so sit down...

“If u are YFM DJs and u need money, holla at me...lol u talk a lot and cannot back it up, broke ass DJs, all off (sic) u sit down....”

When she was ignored, she went on:

“Yfm DJs i’m waiting. u talk a lot on air let me see how much u got..... broke ass DJs.. I will give you rent and food money... Ok if those broke ass YFM DJ peeps talk about me ill be happy... lol.”

Her utterances irked the short- fused Ranaka, who spewed bile: “When you sleep for it (money), it comes fast... be patient with me @NonhleThema i’m still working, it takes a while.... #I’m BrokeBitch.”

Ranaka then went for the jugular, claiming the size of Thema’s privates were evident and she slept around for her wealth.

“I don’t think you heard me.... I’m broke bitch!!

“Even after birth my coochie doesn’t need stitches... word has it yours can park a bus... Good going channel o ho!”

Ranaka was backed by her colleague, Sizwe Dlhomo, who entered the fray.

He tweeted: “This is the same @NonhleThema who two years ago, was submitting demos to Y management, trying to get on the line-up. Now she can buy us?”

Pressed for comment Nonhle says: “I’m not apologetic about my success.

“I’m in talks with my team about Ranaka’s statement, but it’s a clear case of jealousy.

“That was weird. I don’t know what to say about that.

“YFM DJs have been on my case for about four months dissing my reality show and I’ve been keeping quiet.

“I have invested in my career without any man to take the credit, I won’t keep quiet about that. I’ll defend myself until the end.

”Dineo is also unapologetic.

“It was directed straight at me,” she says.

“At first we thought it was a joke but after attacking my colleagues and the station I work for it’s personal,” she says.

JEALOUSY IS THE UGLIEST TREND

Nonhle Thema

And so the controversy around Nonhle Thema and her tweets continue . . . Nonhle Thema is a 29year old Vuzu television presenter best known for her presenting on music shows O-Boma and O-Access, both on Channel O. Both shows was such a huge success that it landed her an even bigger opportunity as the face of a new channel on DStv called Vuzu television, where she co-hosted the celebrity news show called V-Entertainment (with Siyabonga Ngwekazi)in July/2009. Nonhle has worked very hard in building her career but it wasn’t until her endorsement with Dark ‘n Lovely that South Africa started giving her the recognition that she deserved. In 2011 she executive produced her own reality show” Nonhle Goes to Hollywood” which has pretty much landed her in hot water with both fans and the media over her alleged crazy tweets.

Kenny “Sushi King” Kunene & Khanyi Mbau
A couple of weeks ago, Nonhle told her 36 620 followers that she had “made $10m (about R69m) from Dark and Lovely as the face of the product, unfortunately I could NOT be the face forever as you all expected. But don’t worry...I’m rich.” This led to responses like: “she’s nuts”, “she needs to see a shrink” and “How childish”.  Some even commented on how she was shaming her actress mother, Cynthia Shange, while the media saw an opportunity to make profit on headlines such as “Nonhle lost in Twitter-land”. Both the public and the media had a lot to say about Nonhle but none of them made sense as they mostly behaved like lions on a piece of meat. I mean really, how is Nonhle saying that she “gets paid in dollars” offend the fans so much that they consider her nuts and in need of a shrink? How in the hell does her believing in the phrase “I AM THE GREATEST” pisses you as a fan off, is beyond me. She’s rich, so what? , she’s the greatest, so what? She gets paid in dollars, so what? All of her tweets are about her accomplishment, self believe and self motivation but to our surprise haters as usual found a way to turn every self motivating statement into a boastful tweet. I believe that I’M THE GREATEST, does that make me boastful or am I only boastful when I’m a rich celebrity? This has got to stop, celebrities should stop hating on each other and fans should stop holding celebrities to the same standard and values that they know very well they can’t live up to themselves

Siyabonga Ngwekazi

We all had a time in our lives where we have “boasted” about something that we’ve achieved once upon a time so, who are we to cast judgement? For the same reasons that you’ve boasted/self motivated yourself, so did our dark and lovely Nonhle Thema which by the way proves that she’s only human. Nonhle’s tweets have never added nor taken any value from anybody’s life so, why sweat? She’s allowed to boast, because she’s has accomplished a lot nonetheless. When Kenny Kunene (aka The Sushi King) threw his very own birthday party adding to the value of R75000.00 or more, no one said that was “boastful, nuts and he is in need of a shrink” instead, he became a celebrity over night for eating sushi off a naked body of a model. Kenny Kunene’s public display of a boastful man in his wealth was so famously accepted by the public that it even earned him the nickname “Sushi King”. And why was both the media and the public so hash on Nonhle but lenient on Sushi King? Well beats me, or maybe it’s because Nonhle choose (I’M THE GREATEST by R. Kelly) as her life’s defining soundtrack as opposed to the Sushi King’s choice of (ALL I DO IS WIN by DJ Khalled).

Dj Sbu

In another similar incident DJ Sbu was rumored to be broke and struggling for fund which by the way, ended up not true.  Rumor spread like a wild fire, and resulted in DJ Sbu having to be interviewed by V-Entertainment (Nonhle). DJ Sbu went on the show to tell everyone that “I’m not broke”, I mean how can you be rich and broke at the same time? My life hasn’t changed because I still live an expensive life and for the record; I pay for house bonds not bond”.  And unlike their behavior towards Nonhle both the media and the public gave DJ Sbu their sympathy vote. Why again you may ask yourself is Nonhle so harshly judged? Is it because she’s woman or is it because she’s talking dollars when all of us are talking rands? Or maybe it’s because of all the jealous celebrities who are busy adding fuel on fire with their hateful tweets. Read below on some of the disappointing tweets from those very same people who are supposed to understand how the media can twist your action and intention into a profitable headline:

Celebs @NonhleThema

@DJFreshSA: All Y'all “paying attention” are to blame coz “u feed the beast”

Fierce: Fresh, the only beast ever feed by South Africa is you. (Check the mirror).

@Khaya Dlanga: I’m not sure whether Nonhle needs Chuck Norris or Jesus. Or both

Fierce: Khaya, we are not sure if you need attention or affirmative action.

@Euphonik: WhenILoseIt I’ll call my reality show “Euphonik Properly Without Embarrassing (sic) Himself Goes To Hollywood”

Fierce: Euphonik, you need to be fluent in English before you can ever dream of your own reality show.

@Zuraida Jardine: Our very own Charlie Sheen, or is it Mel Gibson?

Fierce: Zursida, you do realise that both Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson are the greatest right? Good to know that you believe in Nonhle being the greatest in SA.

@TumiFromTheV: I think I am allowed 1 judgment a year, now I don’t know you ma, but I think you are out of your mind.

Fierce: Tumi, I know that you’re allowed 1 gym membership a year, now I don’t know you sir but I think a trip to the gym can keep you out of our nerves.

@FrankySA: @NonhleThema do u have some change to sponsor my video? Yazi anginamali (I don’t have money)

City Press
Fierce: Oh Franky, all those gigs and still penniless? It ain’t a joke to be broke. We’ll see if we can get the government to fund you and that is if you have any talent.

Nonhle Thema is the greatest in her opinion which should raise some questions in our minds if whether or not we believe to be the greatest of our time in our own opinions. Shows like Top Shayela and MTV Cribs are filled with nothing but celebrities showing off their wealth knowing full well that you lust over it. For that 30minutes they rub it in your face that they are the greatest and you enjoy it because no one is forcing you to watch it. How can you watch shows of celebrities boasting about whom they are, what they have and not judge but judge a tweet? There’s nothing wrong with those who have it all saying that they have it all, there’s just something wrong with me being angry at the fact that someone consider herself to be the greatest. I believe that Nonhle should shine till she can’t shine no more and if that comes with an ego, then an ego you shall have because dimming your lights so that other can feel comfortable around you is just not an option.

Before you side with the crowd stop, listen, let it swell in your brain and then form your opinion. Just remember that the higher you clime the leader of success is the more people anticipate for your fall. And indeed, what is freedom of speech except it is the right to a speech full of the ring and bells of truth ready to break the chains of jealousy, hate, separation etc. Let’s not hate but congratulate because in the end JEALOUSY IS NOTHING BUT AN UGLY TREND.
